Challenge

The goal was to educate visitors about the JFK assassination in a respectful, historically accurate, and immersive way. The app needed to function on mobile phones, capture attention, and support learning without overwhelming users.

Our Approach

We developed a mobile AR guided tour using Unity. The app features:

  • A fully animated 3D recreation of JFK's motorcade
  • Points of interest with contextual audio, historical data, and location-based interaction
  • An intuitive map and navigation flow with embedded archives and narration

Process highlights included:

  • In-depth research with historians and archival sources
  • Wireframes focusing on intuitive user flow and respectful story presentation
  • High-fidelity 3D modeling optimized for mobile devices
  • Rigorous testing across iOS and Android to ensure quality and accessibility

Station-by-Station Experience

  • Users point their camera and see the motorcade unfold in AR at each significant location
  • Audio narration and timeline context help users understand historical importance
  • Interactive photo opportunities allow users to capture digitally anchored scenes

Why This Project Stands Out

  • Combines historical accuracy with immersive design
  • No app friction; users launch directly on mobile via web-link or native download
  • Accessible storytelling that educates digital-native audiences visiting Dealey Plaza

The application is available for download now on iOS and Google Play Stores.
