The Challenge

CBRE needed a fresh way to onboard new hires in the highly competitive real-estate sector. Traditional slide decks and videos were falling flat. Knowledge retention was low and newcomers felt disconnected from the company’s vast service portfolio.

Our Approach

We built a VR training application in Unity that turns CBRE’s operations into an immersive, game-like walkthrough.
Our process included:

  • Partnering with CBRE stakeholders to define goals, story beats, and success metrics
  • Sketching user flows and wireframes before committing to 3D production
  • Creating lightweight yet detailed 3D models of buildings and infrastructure
  • Integrating quizzes, hotspots, and other gamification logic for active learning
  • Optimizing and QA-testing across major headsets to guarantee comfort and performance

User Experience

  • Don a headset and move through interactive zones that mirror CBRE’s real workplaces
  • Trigger animated hotspots to see how each service line works, from leasing to facilities management
  • Complete quick tasks and quizzes that lock in knowledge before progressing
  • Impact & Recognition

  • Dramatically higher knowledge-retention scores compared with prior onboarding methods
  • Positive feedback from new hires who cited the experience as “engaging” and “memorable”
  • Internal accolades for pioneering immersive tech within CBRE’s training programs
  • Results

The VR program now anchors CBRE’s global onboarding, shortening ramp-up time and boosting employee confidence, all delivered on schedule and within budget.

    Why This Project Stands Out

  • Real estate meets VR: complex operations rendered in an intuitive, immersive format
  • Gamified learning: quizzes and tasks turn passive training into active discovery
  • Scalable framework: reusable assets and logic let CBRE roll out updates and new modules quickly
